INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN PORTFOLIO
The following projects include courses and workshops designed for a variety of modalities and audiences.

PCC 0791
Advanced Reading and Writing
Audience
GED-Seeking Students
Purpose
To prepare students for the GED RLA exam and college-level reading and writing.
Modality
This course has been taught hyflex (both in-person students and those who attend via Zoom at the same time).
Notes
Due to the low digital literacy and general overwhelm of returning adult students, this course does not include the typical variety and options for assignment submissions I might include in other courses. This is not a credit class, and assignments are designed to be completed within our meeting times.
Portland Literacy Council
Adult Literacy Tutor Training
Audience
Volunteer Literacy Tutors
Purpose
To train volunteer tutors for working with adult learners, guiding them toward various learning outcomes.
Modality
This project was designed as a 5-hour in-person workshop.
Notes
Volunteers completing this workshop generally tutor at area libraries, immigrant and refugee organizations, or community colleges.

NOW Education
Interpreting Data
Audience
GED-Tutors and Learners
Purpose
To improve comprehension and interpretation of visual data (a valuable life skill and a GED exam essential).
Modality
This course is designed for tutors to use as digital material to share synchronously with their learners.
Notes
This material provides hands-on digital practice similar to the GED exam. It is designed to be used with a tutor's guidance to prompt additional discussion, not necessarily as a stand-alone or comprehensive resource.
The two quizzes within the course were developed in a platform that I cannot currently access - and therefore cannot further improve accessibility.
